Chess + Money Skill Workshop

Brooklyn Public Library – Midwood Branch
Sunday, May 17, 2026 | 2:00PM - 4:00PM

Join us for an engaging workshop that brings together chess strategy and real-world financial skills in a fun and supportive environment. During the chess portion, students work with a National Master, learning how to think ahead, plan carefully, and make confident decisions through practical positions and guided play.

The financial literacy portion is led by an experienced coach and introduces important concepts such as Needs vs. Wants, Saving, and Smart Spending through interactive, game-based activities designed especially for kids. Parents are required to participate alongside their children.

These are practical life skills that are often not taught in school but are essential for helping children make thoughtful choices and develop healthy habits early.
